I was in Gothenburg with my girlfriend in May. A city birthday had just taken place at the time. Unfortunately, despite the many events, we didn't like the city very much. We just didn't have the impression that there was much to discover that was "typically Gothenburg". Most things can be found elsewhere in Sweden or Scandinavia in a similar way. The price level is of course also somewhat higher. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our time here.
Highligts
The gardens in the city are excellently maintained and invite you to sunbathe in good weather. Sun loungers can even be borrowed free of charge here. The city's museums are also worth a visit, such as the Kunsthalle. There are also many sweet (vegetarian) cafés.
Hidden gems
In Gothenburg, you should definitely try a local cinnamon bun. Some of them are really big!

Gothenburg is a fascinating city with many sights and museums. Whether shopping, eating or accommodation - it's fun in the city, but many things are very expensive. You have to look carefully and think carefully about what you treat yourself to on this city trip.
Highligts
I found the city tour very exciting. The Liseberg theme park is entertaining. The Universum is ideal for science lovers. Nature lovers can explore the archipelago off Gothenburg.
Hidden gems
The Haga district is nice for strolling and shopping. The Volvo Museum is incredibly interesting.
