Santa Ponca Holiday Apartments - for endless days of sea, sun and sand
Breaking 300 years of Moorish rule, King James the First conquered the island after landing in Santa Ponça. Following King James’ annexation, the island became part of the Kingdom of Aragon and was later conquered by the Kingdom of Spain. At the entrance to the marina a cross has been erected at the spot where James landed and every September a fiesta is held where the ‘Moors’ battle the ‘Christians’ in commemoration of the historical event. A pop concert is also held with a grand fireworks display.

Here you can explore the three main caves of Cueva Blanca (the White Cave), Cueva Negra (the Black Cave) and Cueva Luis Salvator. You then reach La ventana (the Window) though which you travel onto Lake Martel, one of the world’s largest underground lakes.
For the beach lovers, the main and “Little Beach” provide an excellent chance to soak up some rays and enjoy the sparkling sea.
