I was in Bergen with a friend in May. Public transport is very well developed (you can even take the streetcar from the airport to the city center) and the ticket prices are reasonable. Like other cities in Norway, Bergen is characterized by a strong architectural contrast between brutalism and wooden houses, which I really liked. Overall, the city offers a good combination of urbanity and nature, which can be reached in just a few minutes. But the weather should play along, then the trip will be even more fun.

You shouldn't miss out on a trip up the local mountain in good weather, even if the ticket price is a little high. You can even meet goats at the top! A free walking tour through the city center is also great fun and easy on the wallet. You can discover lots of hidden places that you might not come across on your own

Try Norwegian cheese. It is brown and tastes sweet and is really very unusual

On my trip to Bergen, I was particularly struck by the beautiful landscapes that you could see from the top of the mountain. There were several hiking trails and lots of nature to see in addition to the old town. It was easy to get around by bus and train. In the city, there was a large selection of fish dishes in restaurants, which tasted good. On my next trip, however, I would go to Bergen at a different time of year, as it is usually very cold in the fall or winter.

We drove to this destination in an electric car. My favorite part was the view from the mountain over the fjords and the harbour. I also really liked the old town. You could eat very well everywhere there. An electric car is also a great way to get around Bergen.
