We go to Venlo regularly. It's not far from us and is a great place to go shopping. Coffee and drinks cans in particular are much cheaper to buy there than here. There is a fish market there once a week, which we also like to visit. The town is a great place to stroll and shop. Many German stores are also represented there. The people are really nice and courteous. Unfortunately, the parking fees are very high and you can only pay by credit card at many parking machines and otherwise can't drive in.
Great shopping opportunities. It's a great place for a stroll. Lots of nice little cafés.
Small snack bar right next to the well-known supermarket "2 Brüder". The fish market once a week.
We go there regularly and love it very much.

Venlo is a shopping paradise for Germans and is very well connected to Germany both by car and by train. It is actually possible to travel by regional express train from Düsseldorf, for example, without changing trains and at an additional cost. Beyond a day trip, however, the city's tourist attractions are unfortunately rather limited.
The main attraction in Venlo is undoubtedly shopping. From groceries at the "Two Brothers" to inexpensive medicines, there is something for everyone here. Culinary delights include something fried like Krolandel and soft-serve ice cream for dessert
You can travel to Venlo with a VRR local transport ticket at no extra charge. There is a continuous connection to Düsseldorf by regional train
I would recommend this destination to all West Germans who want to take a short day trip to Holland
Very good accessibility from Germany
Shopping paradise
Overcrowded, especially at weekends and on German public holidays
Fans of city breaks
My trip to Venlo was just great. I really liked the old town with its pretty streets and buildings. I particularly liked the town hall and St. Martin's Church. It was nice to stroll through the streets and discover the history of the city. I was able to really relax at the Venlo marina. The peace and quiet on the banks of the Meuse river was really nice and a great contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city center. The food in the street cafés and restaurants was also delicious. I particularly enjoyed the fresh seafood and the Dutch pancakes. It was also easy to find my way around Venlo. Most of the sights are within walking distance and the people were friendly and helpful. Next time I visit, I would perhaps try to avoid coming during peak travel times to avoid the crowds. But overall, my trip to Venlo was really great and I'm already looking forward to coming back.
