I was in Sardinia in October 2023. The temperatures were over 30 degrees at this time of year, creating a feel-good atmosphere. The island has many small and, above all, old but well-preserved towns to offer, whether in the north or south. The rock formations in Arbatax and the beautiful town of Cagliari in the south are particularly recommended. Sailing is very good in the north of the island. We recommend renting a car to explore the island.
Highligts

We started in the city of Cagliari and spent a few days there.
It has a very beautiful old town and is a great place to linger.
You can eat anywhere in the city and there are lots of local restaurants.
We also visited many beaches nearby, including La Maddalena and Punta Molentis. Our second accommodation was in Olbia. We went there by car, which we would also recommend. We also visited the city there and went to parks such as Fausto Noce, or visited many historical sights such as the Basilica of San Simplicio.

Sardinia is an island south of Corsica in the Mediterranean and belongs to Italy. I flew to Sardinia at the end of September 2023 to take part in a sailing trip in the Magdalena Archipelago. The weather was very good and sunny throughout. The trip started and ended in the city of Olbia, a city that is also very easy to visit on foot and enjoy a pizza in one of the restaurants. I would definitely recommend a rental car and also an apartment so that you can make yourself something to eat more cheaply. Sardinia is expensive overall, but also very beautiful and recommendable.
Highligts

After two weeks in Sardinia, I can definitely say that it was a really great experience!
I personally liked "Stintino" the best. The beautiful beach with the rock from which you can admire the perfect sunset really won me over.
The many pizzerias are great fun to eat in, some with beautiful views and good prices.
Getting around by car is sometimes a bit of a hassle due to the narrow or bad roads, but it is definitely possible.
The only thing I regret is the hike to "Cala Luna". After 2 hours of hiking, there were far too many people there and the hike wasn't really nice either. But apart from that, everything there is worth a visit.

I really enjoyed my time in Sardinia! I really liked the old town in Cagliari and the beaches in Villasimius. I ate in many restaurants in Cagliari and they were all very tasty. In Villasimius, I can highly recommend the Pinsa right by the harbor. I recommend a car for getting around. I won't avoid anything on my next trip as I've only had good experiences!

Sardinia Villa Rentals - a tranquil, serene Italian natural paradise
The island of Sardinia is less visited than other Mediterranean destinations, making it the best of both worlds, it is a more tranquil holiday location off the beaten tourist track but its world-class sandy beaches, stunning natural wonders, interesting history and wonderful Sardinia Villas make it a top destination for tourists from all over the world. After Sicily, Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. This island is among the most geologically ancient pieces of land in Europe. Permanent settlement took place in the Neolithic age, but evidence of human visitation date back as far as the Paleolithic period. It is believed that the earliest settlers originated from the Italian mainland, while the people who inhabited the interior of the island came from the Iberian Peninsula.
Choose Villas in Sardinia for world-class sandy beaches, stunning natural wonders and interesting history
Nuraghi, stone beehive-like dwellings from the Bronze Age, are unique to the island. Even though their exact use remains unknown, it is speculated that they were used as either military strongholds or religious temples. The largest of the Nuraghi, also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is Nuraxi su Barumini and is located about 60 kilometers north of Sardinia’s capital, Cagliari. Many Sardinia holiday rentals are available nearby. It is believed that Sardinia is home to the most exquisite beaches in the whole of the Mediteranean. Beaches such as Li Coggi, Cala Gonone and the popular Costa Smeralda are regular favorites among “Best Beaches” lists. Many of these sought after beaches as well as the less well known ones offer excellent Sardinia holiday rentals to ensure a wonderful getaway.

Mining has played an important role in Sardinia’s history with the small village of Ingurtosu and Montevecchio among the most important up until the middle of the last century. This region has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site to preserve this piece of the island’s history. Many of the mining facilities have been restored and are open to visitors. Take advantage of Sardinia holiday rentals here as one of the mining facilities has been turned into a hotel. Sardinia’s capital city, Cagliari, was constructed on seven hills with its oldest part, Castello, residing on top of one of them. From it the top of it, visitors can enjoy spectacular views of Angels Gulf, or the Gulf of Cagliari. You can see most of the capital city from Bastione San Remy, a late nineteenth century limestone fortification.
