An absolute must when you come to Garmisch is a visit to the Zugspitze, whether you take the large gondola or the small Zugspitzbahn. Tip: early in the morning, when the crowds are not yet so big. You should also visit the famous Partnach Gorge, but as you can walk here in two directions and there is only one narrow path, it gets quite crowded. So get there as early as possible and tip: enjoy a Kaiserschmarrn at the Kaiserschmarrnalm afterwards!
Mountain hikes, visiting the Zugspitze, various gorges, the Rießersee lake
A hike around the Eibsee
Everyone should travel to Garmisch once, the feeling is great!

We traveled to Garmisch-Partenkirchen in July 2023 to the Hotel Aja. From here you can go on many excursions and hikes, I would particularly like to highlight the trips to the Partnachklamm gorge, the Eibsee lake and the gondola ride up to the Zuspitze. The place is beautifully surrounded by mountains. The hotel is one of very few wellness hotels. There are countless hiking trails. I can only recommend this resort!

Wellness and relaxation
An absolute must not only for skiers, but also for hikers! Super beautiful scenery and a visit to the Partnachklamm gorge is a must. You can also hike further from here, but admission costs money. You should also take a trip to the Zugspitze, where I recommend taking the cog railroad up and the large gondola down, as both are automatically included in the price and you get to see the most.

Partnachklamm Gorge Is beautiful, in summer and winter.
I would definitely recommend Garmisch to anyone!

My overall travel experience in Garmisch-Partenkirchen was very good. From there, you have very good connections to get to the mountains. You'll also find lots of like-minded people and have the opportunity to go shopping as well as eat something delicious. In winter, I recommend the Christmas market. However, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is actually a bit more expensive. All in all, it's a manageable place to get away from it all. It's also nice to go on vacation in your own home town.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a beautiful little town with lots of shopping opportunities. The town also has many restaurants and at Christmas time the Christmas market is really wonderful. Near Garmisch-Partenkirchen you have the opportunity to climb the Zugspitze or walk around the Eibsee.
An insider tip is not to stay overnight directly in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, but in the surrounding area. It is also advisable to drive through the area in a rental car.
I recommend this destination to anyone who wants to get away from it all and relax on beautiful nature and hiking trails.

I can really recommend Garmisch-Partenkirchen to anyone who loves nature. There are many beautiful pictures of nature to look at here. One highlight was a visit to the ski jump, which is part of the Four Hills Tournament. If the weather cooperates, a visit to the city center is recommended. There is good food here. The cheese noodles in particular are delicious! Everything in Garmisch is within easy walking distance.
