We were in Leipzig for a weekend in October. We stayed two nights at the Ibis Budgehotel directly on Brühl. The hotel was super cheap, very clean, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was sufficient. The city is very beautiful, we visited the Nikolaikirche, the Opernplatz, the Thomaskirche and so on. The train station is also worth seeing. You can get everywhere by streetcar, so the transport links are great. Leipzig Zoo is definitely worth a visit, the highlight is Gondwanaland. We recommend Auerbachs Keller and the pharmacy, you can eat well there. Leipzig is definitely worth a visit.

I found the Christmas market really great. It has different themes. I can only recommend it. I can also recommend the EMP store, as it extends over 3 floors. I had a pretzel at a bakery and you could eat it, but it wasn't that good. I took the streetcar and I have to say that the price-performance ratio is really good compared to other places! You can definitely get around easily on foot, but also by public transport. There's a stop at every corner, but you can't quite figure out which streetcar to take where 😅 Next time I would avoid it: Asking the people from Leipzig if they could help me with the streetcar issue, because the people were very unfriendly.
The Völkerschlachtdenkmal is really worth a visit. The Christmas market is also beautiful. There are also very interesting fairs there.
An EMPshop that extends over 3 floors and cute one-man stores

I really enjoyed my stay in Leipzig. In my opinion, an insider tip is Lake Cospuden, a wonderful place for a walk. Another highlight for me was St. Thomas Church. This is a fundamental building with a lot of character. Although I didn't go out to eat myself, I did notice a few inviting restaurants while strolling through the city.
St. Thomas Church is a fundamental building with a great deal of emotional significance.
Lake Cospuden is a great place for a stroll.

I visited Leipzig in June. The weather was great. One of my highlights was a visit to the City Tower. Access to the viewing platform cost €5, but the view was worth it. A complete view over Leipzig and the surrounding green spaces and lakes. I can recommend the food in the Ratskeller. You should make a reservation in advance. The restaurants in the old town are located in an alley where there is still a lot going on after 1 am. I will definitely visit Leipzig again.
City skyscraper (viewing platform), Altstatt, Essen (Ratskeller)
Brick's Der Cocktail is an inconspicuous bar in Nikolaustrasse that is easy to overlook, as the bar is accessed via a spiral staircase in the basement.
Leipzig is a lively city with many historic buildings
Super transport connections S-Bahn, buses. Beautiful old town and green spaces
Too far away from where I live :-)

I spent a weekend in Leipzig in October. I liked it, the city center is very nice and the public transport is very well developed. I visited various places, e.g. Barfußgäßchen or Hans im Glück. Unfortunately, many restaurants are closed on Sundays. The main train station is central and very large. I also visited the zoo, which is very large and also very centrally located.
