I'm a big fan of the Harz mountains. There is something to see here in every season. In winter, the Wurmberg is perfect for skiing as it is also trailer-friendly. But there is also a lot to experience here in summer, such as the hiking trail along the warm Bode river or the Wurmbergkarts. There are also some highly recommended restaurants such as the Schnitzelkönig and the Windbeutelkönig.

Ideal for a break in nature. We recommend Bad Harzburg, where you can do many things such as visit the thermal baths, hike or visit the adventure trail.
It is recommended to use the cable car in Bad Harzburg to get to the top, there is a beautiful view and you can hike back down.
Also ideal for families with children.

We took a day trip to Torfhaus in March. The town is very beautiful and has several restaurants where you can linger. We walked up the Brocken from Torfhaus. Alternatively, people who are not so good on foot can take the Brockenbahn from Schierke to the Brocken. We then ate at the top of the Brocken and walked back. On my next trip, I wouldn't eat on the Brocken because the prices there are relatively high.

Particularly beautiful places in the Harz Mountains are the Brocken, the Devil's Wall and the sandstone caves. However, these places can be very crowded at weekends and on public holidays. I would therefore recommend a hike during the week.
