I can recommend a trip to Zadar because of the beautiful surroundings, the peaceful atmosphere and the good food. The surroundings offer a blue sea with the typical Croatian rocks. As well as all the restaurants where you can eat at reasonable prices. I can particularly recommend the traditional cevapcici dish or the meat platters. About 30 minutes away by car in the village of Drage is the viewpoint "vidokovac ćelinka Drage". I can absolutely recommend a trip to this viewpoint, as the view from there is super beautiful. As the low-cost airline Ryanair flies to Zadar Airport, flights are often very cheap. The accommodation in Zadar is also reasonably priced. We recommend booking flights and accommodation separately. My only negative point is that there are hardly any all-inclusive hotels in the area around Drage, so you have to cater for yourself on vacation.

The first highlight of the trip is the low-cost flight, as Ryanair flies to Zadar. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful. A blue sea surrounded by the typical Croatian stones. My absolute highlight of this vacation was the trip to the viewpoint "vidokovac ćelinka drage".
Hidden gems
The excursion to the viewpoint "vidokovac cerlinka Drage", which can be reached 30km from Zadar in the small village of Drage. Also a visit to the Paklenicada National Park, which can be reached in 1.5 hours by car.

It is a wonderful vacation destination with beautiful surroundings, a cozy atmosphere and reasonably priced food.

I was in Zadar for four days. I mainly walked in the old town. It was relatively cold by the sea in May with the wind, which meant it wasn't possible to walk around in a T-shirt and I always had to have a jacket with me. The restaurants in the old town are very expensive, and outside the old town many things in Zadar felt a bit left out, very old, partly also abandoned buildings. For a few days, but definitely worth a trip.
Highligts
I particularly liked the historic buildings and the narrow streets. I found the Roman ruins fascinating. I also found the art installation that creates calming sounds right by the sea very worth seeing. I found the play of light very impressive and I was impressed by all the national parks around Zadar in general.
Hidden gems
There is a botanical garden on the city wall with a view of the harbor. Lots of geckos in the city.

There are many beautiful beaches to visit in Zadar. The harbor is an absolute insider tip. The restaurant is really very cheap. Absolutely suitable for families. The only downside was that everything was very crowded with tourists. You never had any peace and quiet. Still recommendable.
