We went on a school trip to Salzburg and stayed at the Mozart Hostel. The absolute highlight was the factory tour at the Palfinger company, which produces lifting cranes for trucks and provides insights into the production process, starting with the raw parts. There is also an adventure world there, which is particularly exciting for children. The restaurants were also very good, we got pizza to go from Pizzeria Lievitamente, but there is also a small area with seating. The pizzas are highly recommended!
On a trip to Salzburg, the surrounding area is just as interesting as the city itself. For example, we went on a factory tour at Palfinger, but you can also visit the Stigl brewery.
Factory tour at Palfinger is an absolute highlight
Salzburg is a cultural stronghold with a great backdrop

I am really impressed by Salzburg. I'm particularly impressed by the historic old town, which looks very elegant. From there you have an excellent view of the palace. Every destination is easy to reach by public transport. Salzburg simply offers everything your heart desires!
My favorite is Salzburg's old town. You have a great view of the castle. In combination with the Salzach, it looks very impressive. There are good bus connections.
It is very easy to get to your destination by public bus. Some businesses only accept cash.
Impressive combination of historic, elegant old town and Austrian culture.

We were in Salzburg over the weekend to go rafting on the Salzach. It was extremely cold (water temperature 8 degrees), but the scenery made up for everything! We also strolled through the Getreidegasse. It was expensive, but the products were really great (insider tip: chocolate coffee beans). It was easy to park in one of the many parking garages, but the traffic was really bad. We also paid a visit to Hellbrunn Zoo, which is highly recommended. We stayed at the Ramada Hotel Salzburg City, from where you can easily walk into the city center (including to the cathedral).
Mozart's birthplace. The Hohensalzburg Fortress. The (expensive) Getreidegasse. The landscape!
Rafting on the Salzach is highly recommended! And I can also recommend a visit to the Getreidegasse.
I would recommend Salzburg as a destination, but without children, as there are simply too many sights that don't interest children.
Super great city center
Many sights
Very expensive
Heavy traffic

The whole trip was great. The sights are more than worth a look. There are great restaurants and interesting attractions. My personal highlight was the Hohensalzburg Fortress with a great view of the city. The best restaurant in my opinion was the Stieglkeller, which was very delicious. The public transport connections are very good, you can get to your destination very easily and quickly. I would definitely stay longer on my next trip, as there are many more great things to experience. The only thing I would avoid next time is booking spontaneously, as this is often complicated due to its popularity.
The visit to Hohensalzburg Fortress was a great experience. Mozart's birthplace was also very interesting and great to see. A personal highlight for me was the Volksgarten in Salzburg.
The Stieglkeller is a great insider tip for eating and drinking. It is easily accessible for everyone and very delicious to eat.

Salzburg is one of the most beautiful cities I have visited. There is so much to discover. The food is very good, the people are friendly. The city is full of charm and beauty, from the stunning architecture, from the magnificent baroque buildings to the picturesque streets. The historic old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers a wealth of cultural treasures, including the birthplace of Mozart and the mighty Hohensalzburg Fortress. The city's location on the banks of the Salzach river and surrounded by the majestic Alps makes it the ideal destination for nature lovers. In addition, the atmosphere in Salzburg is characterized by hospitality, which is reflected in the cosy cafés, lively markets and traditional festivals.
